WHO WE ARE

Bethesda Temple Church is a vibrant, Spirit-led community rooted in faith, driven by purpose, and empowered by the love of Jesus Christ. Since our founding in 1988 by the late District Elder Ernest D. Alexander and First Lady Mae Alexander, Bethesda has been a place of healing, hope, and Holy Ghost power.

Our story began humbly — 30 believers gathering in borrowed spaces — but God’s hand has always been on us. What started with a small group has grown into a thriving ministry that touches lives across Los Angeles and beyond.

Today, under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Kyron Shorter and First Lady Terrah Shorter, Bethesda has been committed to equipping this generation and the next to know God deeply, serve Him faithfully, and make Him known globally. From vibrant worship to life-changing outreach, Bethesda is a church where families and people of all ages are healed, loved, and empowered.

We are Bethesda. The Lord has made room for us, and we will be fruitful in the land.

OUR CULTURE

WHERE EVERYONE HAS A SEAT AND PURPOSE

At Bethesda, you’re not just attending church—you’re coming home. We’re a loving, Spirit-led community where prayer is our foundation, praise is our heartbeat, and the Word is alive. We may not all look the same or come from the same place, but in Christ, we’re one family with a purpose. There’s room for you here—because you matter, and you belong.
